MITI project overview


Disclaimer: Any information you provide below will be used to assist in the assessment and selection of a suitable MITI student team. Some of the information provided will be displayed on the MITI website with access available to potential MITI applicants, other Monash students, staff and faculty members, therefore we would advise against the disclosure of any commercially sensitive or confidential information when outlining the details of your project.

The MITI program operates under a scholarship agreement which is required to be completed by both the industry partner and Monash University prior to the commencement of the project. The agreement will be prepared by Monash University and sent to the nominated contact person upon selection of the project team/s. A sample of the standard MITI Agreement can be provided to you for review if required.

A MITI project is designed to cover the summer vacation period, the project team's start date with your organisation will be Monday 27th November 2023 to Friday 23rd February 2024. Please note this commencement date and ensure your organisation is ready for the project team to join you on this date. The industry partner may alter these dates slightly in consultation with Monash University.

The MITI program engages all faculties across the university and encourages and supports a multi-discipline approach to problem solving. Please indicate from the following list the faculties you would like to consider for this project.

Will students be required to travel between locations throughout their project? Please note: Monash University has in place policies and guidelines regarding student travel whilst undertaking extra-curricular activities which will need to be understood if travel offsite is required.

Project Supervisor

Site Visit Date: 

Monash University representatives will visit the students and placement supervisor mid-way through the MITI Program cycle. Please select a proposed date and time between mid-December to mid January.

Student project team Final Presentation:

 All student teams are required to present their project outcomes.  We ask that you select a proposed date for this presentation to take place. The presentation is located at the host organisation with key organisational stakeholders and Monash University representatives will attend. This presentation will generally take place during the final 2 weeks of February.
